What kinds of films are being screened at NDFF?

NDFF is a festival of short films that are all directed by neurodivergent filmmakers. The films are of all different genres and span both animation and live action.

What does neurodivergent mean?

Neurodivergent means a brain that diverges. This includes but is not limited to autistic people, people with ADHD, people with learning disabilities, epileptic people, people with mental illnesses, people with MS, people with Parkinsons, people with apraxia, people with cerebral palsy, people with dyspraxia, and people with no specific diagnosis but “wonky lateralization”. (Souce: Neurodivergent K of Radical Neurodivergence Speaking, coiner of the term neurodivergent, https://dahniwitchoflight.wordpress.com/2016/05/21/psa-from-the-actual-coiner-of-neurodivergent/)

How can I watch the festival?

There will be a link where you can watch a livestream of all the films. After that the films will be available on demand for 24 hours. Register on Eventbrite to receive updates.

Does it cost anything to watch the festival?

NDFF is free of charge to watch.

When is the festival?

I see that on the program there is a category listed for each film and it’s either Free Form or Self Determination. What do those mean?

Self Determination is empowering individuals to make decisions about their own lives. It is a category inspired by the Self-Determination program in California for disabled people which provides consumers and their families with more freedom, control, and responsibility in choosing services and supports to help them meet objectives in their Individual Program Plan. Free Form is a category for films that tell any kind of story (or maybe don’t tell a story).
